[HST REBATES] A $300 TAX CREDIT!!!!

Real Estate Market prices will be impacted by the current HST tax as was indicated recently by the Ontario Real Estate Association stats.

In fact, there will be a slight stabilization of the real estate market as a result of several factors, the current changes to mortgage qualification, hire borrowing costs in the second half of 2010, NEW HST and over slow demand in the market.

HST is the new controversial tax that many Canadians view as a tax “grab”. According to the government, businesses should benefit from the new HST as they may now claim input tax credits and reduce their costs.

Others argue this cost savings will be passed onto the final consumer, resulting in lower prices and therefore individuals will have more to spend- I suppose only time will tell.

Transitional payments will be offered to low and middle income earners to adjust this tax increase. Those who are eligible with earnings less than $80,000 in 2009 will receive $300.
Families with combined income of less than $160,000 will receive $1000.
Cheques will be mailed out in 3 equal payments beginning in June and December 2010, with the final payment in June 2011.
